Access and Engagement

Vision

  • 4 Councils 1 Community
  • Any man can find a home within IFC
  • Promote a more inclusive future

Just like trees, people grow stronger and healthier when their roots are surrounded by nutrient-rich soil. As such, the goal of Access and Engagement is ultimately to create a community where people feel a sense of belonging and welcomeness. I believe that now is the perfect time to enrich our community by focusing on including those who feel like they don’t belong, hearing those who don’t feel heard, and inspiring those who never thought they could be a leader.

Sincerely,

Justin Henley

2025 Goals

    • Establish an Access and Engagement committee made up of primarily newer members to the IFC community for the purpose of gaining exposure to cross-council collaboration and paving the way for their future as leaders of the community.
    • Partner with Basic Needs to provide free, high-quality polos to all potential new members (PNMs) who would like or don’t have one to substantially reduce clothing-based discrimination during formal fall IFC recruitment.
    • Collaborate with the MGC, NPHC, and Panhellenic to create joint programming that benefits the entire Greek community.
    • Enhance the online IFC Access and Engagement module to give IFC chapters the opportunity to learn about and interact with access and engagement concepts in a relatable scenario-based manner from the perspective of someone in an IFC chapter.
    • Bolster IFC’s connection with the FUTURE program by increasing our representation in their Peer Mentor program and conducting an ongoing dialogue about how our communities can collaborate.
    • Show up and support the programming of the other three councils by reaching new records of IFC attendance.
    • Create programming centered around belonging and welcomeness.
    • Provide transportation options for IFC formal recruitment upon request by offering a way to schedule van pick-ups.
    • Continue to offer a $1000 IFC needs and values-based scholarship program to reduce the financial barrier to stay involved in our community.
